Newsflash

2010 Top Dog, Top Stud

Rula finishes 2010 as Number 1 Miniature Schnauzer and is closely followed by her father Sizzle, who finishes Number 2 after being shown at only a handful of shows. Sizzle also proves himself as a sire by 'coming in' as Top Stud 2010. What a fantastic year for the Zakmayo Kennel.

Midland Counties Championship Show

Miniature Schnauzers have been awarded CC's at this show for 2 years now and both years Sizzle has succeeded to win Open Dog, the Dog CC and BOB. It was a double celebration as his daughter Rula also took Open Bitch, the Bitch CC and BOS. Its a great honour to win both awards under a most respected all breed judge Frank Kane. Sizzle was also shortlisted in a very strong group. But the winning did not stop there, Marni also had a good day winning Limit Bitch and the Sizzle daughter Kopykats Unforgettable won the Bitch Reserve CC and Best Puppy. Four of the six bitch class winners were all sired by Sizzle.

Driffield Championship Show

Boy did it rain at Driffield. Sizzle performed well, sloshing around the waterlogged ring and walked away with Open Dog, the dog CC and BOB. Taking the bitch CC was a Sizzle daughter, Malenda Mahonia. Many thanks to breed specialist Sarah Hatterell.

Miniature Schnauzer Club Championship Show

I beleive that history was made at the Mini Club Champ Show. Sizzle won for the third year running Open Dog, the Dog CC, and Best In Show. In the last fifty year history no other dog has won this prestigious award for three consecuative years. Rula won second in Open bitch and the Reserve CC. A fantastic day and a very 'proud mum moment'. Many thanks to the judge Tom Mather.

Darlington Championship Show

Well, it doesn't happen very often - doing the double at a Championship Show. What a brilliant result for the Zakmayo Mini's. Sizzle made a grand entrance back into the showring after having most of the year off. And boy did he make the most of it, prancing and strutting! It was great to have him back out and to get that feeling of goosebumps as he moves around the ring. He won his Open Dog class, Dog CC and BOB. Rula his daughter, followed closely in his footsteps by taking the Open Bitch class, the Bitch CC and BOS. Many thanks to breed specialist Kevin Durso for being brave enough to award both CC's to the same kennel.

Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show

Ellis Hulme took centre stage at Welsh Kennel Club. Rula continued her winning streak by winning the Open Bitch class, the Bitch CC and BOS. This is her 6th CC. Again there were 3 of Sizzle's puppies in the 'Bitch Line Up'. Many thanks to the judge for such a successful outing.

Bournemouth Championship Show

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside! Bournemouth has to be one of my favourite shows and what a lovely day we had. Rula won her Open Bitch class, the Bitch CC and BOS. This win was particulary poignant as the judge had liked her as a puppy - its great to think that she has now matured and is still pleasing the eye!. Ella also won her first Junior class - she's all grown up now. What was also remarkable was that the 'Bitch Line Up' consisted of 6 bitches - 4 of which were sired by Sizzle. Many thanks to breed specialist Len Anness.

Three Counties Championship Show

What a glorious day Three Counties turned out to be after a chilly start. Rula won a strong Open Bitch class, the Bitch CC and BOS. Ella made her owner Jill Balwin a very proud Mum by winning her Puppy Bitch class. Many thanks to breed specialist Ann Swallow.

Southern Counties Championship Show

Dr Goran Bodegard travelled over from Sweden to assess several breeds at Southern Counties, one of those being Miniature Schnauzers. Marni had another lovely win, picking up Best Puppy Bitch, just beating her sister Ella into second place

Scottish Championship Show

Well for the first time in years the sun shone in Scotland for their May Show, and what a lovely day we had. Rula won her third CC along with Best of Breed, meaning that she gained her title at just under 2 years old. Joy Beardall also enjoyed success with Marni who won Best Puppy. Many thanks to Shaun Frost for thinking so highly of our girls. We drove home on a high!

Birmingham National Championship Show

Rula enjoyed a successful day at Birmingham National. Ronni Tiernney took centre stage and awarded her the bitch CC and BOS. This is the second ticket for her - one more to go Rula and you'll get the big Ch in front of your name.
