Zakmayo Miniature Schnauzers are a mother and daughter team consisting of Viv and Kirsty Sanders.
After many years of showing and breeding Dobermans, whilst at a dog show the Miniature Schnauzer caught our eye - and this started a fascination with these small friendly dogs.
Since then we have strived to produce and show top quality specimens of a breed we love.
During this time we have had considerable success producing many champions in both the UK and Ireland. We have gained Top Miniature Schnauzer, Top Miniature Schnauzer Dog, Top Miniature Schnauzer Bitch, Top Miniature Schnauzer Brood Bitch (with two different bitches) and have won both the Dog CC, the Bitch CC and Best Puppy at Crufts, with both Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex.
We breed for type and movement and like an extrovert temperament which makes both a good show dog and pet.
All our dogs are kept in the house and are treated as part of the family (generally sleeping on the bed). The bitches tend to live with Viv (in Bristol) which means that the litters are reared there also. However the Stud Dogs are kept with Kirsty (in South Yorkshire). We find this way, the Stud Dogs do not get upset when the bitches come into season.
